Taking Care of Balinese Cat

Balinese cats are part of Siamese bloodlines. However, they have a medium-long silky white coat and a spiral tail. They are not really natural breeds. They are believed to be the result from breeding Siamese cats and Angora cats. A breeder from New York who is Helen Smith called them Balinese because of the lovely dancers from the Island of Bali.

The Temperament
If you love Siamese cats, you will also adorn the Balinese cats. They are friendly and sociable which make them perfect for families and even individuals as companion. However, they are less active and quieter than the Siamese Cats. You will enjoy their curiosity. It seems like they are always investigating for something. These cats are also active. They can leap higher places and they even love to stay on your shoulder. Most importantly, you have to provide them with lots of toys if you don't want them getting busy playing with your stuffs at home. In order for them to have a place of their own, you also need to give them cat bed. In this way, it will be easier for you to look for them.

Cat care
The Balinese cats are great to be trained since they are intelligent. They will surely climb, play, and even mess with something that catches their interest and attention. For you to prevent this kind of behaviour, you have to secure the whole house. They may break your expensive vase, scratch on your favourite furniture, or tear your beautiful draperies. Remember, you cannot stop them from acting this way. That's why you have to get rid of anything that will catch their curiosity. They will also crave for your attention and time in playing with them. If you cannot provide them quality time, it is much better not to choose a
Balinese cat.
When you are going to travel, you need to have a cat carrier for them. This will prevent them from always hanging on your shoulder and being active in front of the crowd. You will also feel secured as you know that they are also safe inside the carrier.
As much as you can, you should train them to stay indoors. They may get in to trouble which can be dangerous for them. And also, this will protect them from creating chaos to your other neighbours.

Health
You will enjoy being with the Balinese cats as they have a lifespan of 20 years. However, to keep them healthy, you have to spay or neuter them as early as possible. Like the other pets, you need to provide them with complete immunization so that they are protected against diseases. A veterinarian who is an expert for this kind of cat breed is the best choice for you to have.

Grooming
Although they may have medium-long silky hair, they are not difficult to be groomed. You may do this regularly. But good thing is, their hair is not that thick and does not usually mat unlike the other cat breeds. You may give them a slight brushing of their hair as one of your best ways in interacting with them.
